Doongi Ground: Court summons record for Nov 8
Petitioner sought contempt proceedings against the CM, the commissioner, DCO and the DG of the LDA.

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday summoned the record on a contempt petition against the chief minister and others for not implementing the court’s orders for the restoration of the Gaulberg Doongi Ground.
Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh heard initial arguments on the petition and sought the relevant record by November 8. Petitioner Ahmad Imran Ghazi says Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a statement to the court in 2009, promised to restore the park, but has now approved plans to build a library on the 39-kanal ground. He sought contempt proceedings against the chief minister, the commissioner, the district coordination officer and the director general of the Lahore Development Authority.
