An exhibition of the work of two budding artists, Mehwish Waheed and Anum Alamgir, opened at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Tuesday, said a press release.

Amina Shakeel Awan,  the wife of MNA Shakeel Awan, inaugurated the exhibition.

About one hundred items including clutch handbags, stockings, forming work, pot painting, botanical works, handmade jewellery, table mats and glass painting were put on display.

Mehwish Waheed, who was also a student of the RAC, said her time at the council “really helped her in practical work”.

Awan applauded the creative work of both the artists and said both artists have an intellectual depth that is depicted in their work.

RAC Director Naheed Manzoor said that the Potohar region has produced a number of intellectuals who helped bring fame to the country.

Waheed and Alamgir are artists with such potential, she added.

The exhibition will continue till October 27.
