Open kutchery: IGP suspends two SHOs from service

MULTAN:

Inspector General of Police Haji Habibur Rahman suspended two inspectors from service at an open kutchery in Khanewal on Saturday.

More than 100 people from various areas attended the kutchery held at the Khanewal DPO office and told the IGP about their problems. The IGP ordered the suspension of SHOs Zulfiqar Olakh of the City Police Station and Zahid Gujjar of Makhdoompur Police Station on citizens’ complaint and ordered an inquiry against them.

The citizens lauded Khanewal DPO Rai Ijaz Kharal for bringing down the crime rate in the district.

Rahman said police needed to improve their relationship with the general public. He appreciated the efforts of acting Multan RPO Amir Zulfiqar Khan for controlling crime and for special operations against terrorists.

He directed monitoring of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan activities in the area. He said 300 criminals had been shot down all over the Punjab this year. He also said crime rate in the Punjab was decreasing, particularly in urban areas.
