Cricket: PCC register comfortable win

PCC will now meet Alamgir Gymkhana in the final.

KARACHI: International batsmen Asad Shafiq and Rameez Raja Jr scored half-centuries to help Pakistan Cricket Club (PCC) reach the final of the KCCA Zone VI Dawood Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament, as they defeated Northern Gymkhana by 97 runs at the  RLCA Ground in North Karachi. Batting first, PCC scored 288 for seven in 40 overs as Fazal Subhan top-scored with 81 while Shafiq (58), Akbar-ur-Rehman (56) and Raja (51) played important knocks as well. Muhammad Shafiq and Ejaz Ahmed took two wickets each. In reply, Northern Gymkhana could only manage 191 for seven. Tabraiz Shah struck six boundaries in his 86-run knock while Ayaz Khan made 62. Left-arm spinner Fawad Khan and off-spinner Misbah Khan claimed three wickets apiece. PCC will now meet Alamgir Gymkhana in the final.
