Show-cause: PCB likely to impose heavy fine on Razzaq

In his rejoinder to the PCB, Razzaq maintains that motive of his presser was not to hurt anyone, he got emotional.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was not satisfied with all-rounder Abdul Razzaq’s rejoinder to its show-cause notice and is likely to impose a heavy fine on him, DawnNews quoted sources as saying.

Replying to the show-cause notice issued by the board, all-rounder Abdul Razzaq said that he does not have any personal tiff with T20 Captain Muhammad Hafeez.

Razzaq maintained that the motive of his press conference was not to hurt anyone and that he was driven by emotions.

“Muhammad Hafeez is a very good friend of mine and I will not give him a chance to complain again,” said Razzaq.

Razzaq created controversy by blaming the captain for his exclusion from the World Twenty20 semi-final against Sri Lanka, which Pakistan lost by 16 runs, describing the decision as “illogical and taken only by Hafeez.”

The all-rounder had said, “If he has dropped me, he should say that it was his [Hafeez’s] decision to drop me, and that he is the captain and it’s his planning.”

Razzaq was dropped from the team after a 17-ball 22 against Australia to make way for Sohail Tanvir in the playing-XI.
