The summary received in this regard said that the number of patients at CMH Lahore for the facility of cardiac medical treatment exceeded beyond its capacity, which therefore necessitated the establishment of Army Cardiac Centre.

The president also accorded his approval to the appointment of Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Additional Judges of High Court of Sindh, as permanent judges of the Sindh High Court. These appointments shall be deemed to have been made with effet from September 17.

President Zardari on the advice of prime minister approved conferment of the Pride of Performance award upon Ustad Naseeruddin Saami. The Award would be presented to Ustad Naseeruddin in the forthcoming Investiture Ceremony on 23rd March 2013.

Ustad Naseeruddin Saami is one of Pakistan’s most important exponents of Indian classical music. His gamut comprises a variety of forms and styles, including khayal, the ‘elaborative’ style of singing attributed to Amir Khusrow; sadra, a hybrid of Khayal and Hindu devotional chants and the light classical forms of thumri and dadra.

I guess demanding equality and treating servicemen equal to common citizens is against Pakistani traditions and touched raw nerves. There is strong resistance against a modern hospital for everybody including the army and the civilians who employ them and pay for their perks. Looks like the dream of equality is not happening in the land of pure.
