SUKKUR:

The ‘A’ Section police station is conducting an investigation into the death of a young man and his stepsister, whose bodies were found in a house in Barrage Colony on Friday night.

The police have received contradicting statements from their parents who were allegedly in the house when the incident took place.

The deceased girl, N, was reportedly staying with her parents for the last one month due to domestic problems with her husband. According to N’s mother, Shamim, her stepson, A, did not want N staying in the house with them. Shamim alleged that A argued with N on Friday night, after which he shot her and then killed himself.

The girl’s stepfather, Irshad Malik, however, said that it was N’s estranged husband, Saeed Kalhoro, who broke into the house and killed the brother and sister. Malik alleged that Kalhoro, who lives in Hyderabad, managed to escape with his accomplices.

The ‘A’ Section SHO, Abdul Jabbar Mahar, told The Express Tribune that the police found a message on a mirror in the house, which read “Me [A] and N have been troubled with domestic problems and that is why we have decided to end our lives. Nobody else should be held responsible.”

Mahar said that the weapon and marker, which was used to write the message, have been sent for fingerprinting. No case was registered till the filing of this report. The bodies have been shifted to Civil Hospital, Sukkur for autopsy.
