ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that an All Parties Commission will supplement the efforts of the Parliamentary Committee already working for the resolution of problems faced by Balochistan.

Speaking in the National Assembly on Friday, Chaudhry Nisar said that the commission should comprise of members belonging to all parties including Jamaat-e-Islami (JI)‚ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) and Baloch leaders.

The National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution calling upon the federal government to constitute an All Parties Commission with the mandate to contact all the estranged Baloch leaders.

The resolution moved by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zahid Hamid said that the commission should comprise of members of all political parties including those who have no representation in the parliament.

The resolution said that the commission shall establish lines of contacts with the estranged Baloch leaders and convey desire of the House for political reconciliation in Balochistan. It noted that this move will help improve the overall law and order situation in the province.

The resolution said the commission shall submit its report within one month.

Review weekly petrol price revision

Regarding the prices of petroleum products‚ Chaudhry Nisar opposed the weekly review of the prices saying it destabilises the economy as well as makes the lives of common man miserable. He said that the prices should be reviewed on a monthly basis in order to give some relief to the people.

The House also unanimously passed another resolution calling upon the government to review the prices of petroleum products on a monthly basis.

The resolution moved by Hamid said that the weekly review of the prices is adversely affecting the economy as well as the common man. The resolution also called upon the government to review the petroleum levy.

It is great to see all the bills proposed by the opposition were approved by the ruling govt. It proves that with the right attitude democracy can work in Pakistan especially if both the govt and opposition play a responsible and open minded role. Great to see all the parties talking to Baloch leaders.
