Hazara University (HU) has played a key role in improving social and economic development and providing quality education to the people.
This was stated by HU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Sakhawat Shah while speaking at the 11th Foundation Day of the varsity at its Garden campus in Dhodial on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by faculty members, students and administration staff of the university.
Shah said that HU has made extraordinary achievements in the field of research for over a decade and seven of its researchers won the Research Productivity Award from the Council for Science and Technology during the year 2011-12.
The university, he added, was placed eighth at the federal level and second in the provincial ranking list compiled by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He further said that the university’s research activities have not only earned it prominence among other universities countrywide, but also at the global level.
He informed everyone that HU was presently offering educational facilities in 32 disciplines to thousands of students at different campuses. He urged the teachers, students and employees to contribute their energies for the development and progress of HU. Later, a walk was held followed by a flag-hoisting ceremony.
