SUKKUR:

Larkana police has registered two cases for the bomb attacks at the houses of provincial lawmakers a day earlier. The cases were registered at the Waleed police station and Rehmatpur police station on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a bomb was thrown at the residence of Sindh law minister Ayaz Soomro while the police arrested a man, who was allegedly planting a bomb outside the house of Sindh Assembly speaker Nisar Khuhro. The man was identified as Asadullah Chandio alias Labaik, who lives in the Warah district of Qamber-Shahdadkot. Police sources claimed that the suspect was associated with a nationalist party and was involved in both the bomb attacks.

Later, the Larkana SSP brought the suspect to a press conference with him. Labaik told the journalists that he joined Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz in 2007 and has been regularly taking part in protests against the government.

Before joining the nationalist party, he had worked as a watchman in the revenue department on a two-year contract. “When my contract expired in 2007, instead of renewing it, the officers  appointed another man,” he said. “I have done masters in sociology but I do not have the backing of any influential to get a job.” The suspect also accused the ruling party leaders of only serving their own vested interests. The SSP said that Asadullah Chandio was wanted by Warah police in eight cases of murder and robberies.
