President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that relations with the United Kingdom are based on mutual respect and trust, and stressed for translating them into economic terms.
He was talking to British Member of Parliament and former foreign secretary David Wright Miliband, who had called on him to discuss bilateral relations. The president said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the UK as a genuine development partner.
He also stressed for achieving mutual trade targets set under the Pakistan-UK Trade and Investment Roadmap. He said Pakistan looks forward to Britain’s continued support for the country in the European Union for trade concessions and for inclusion in the GSP Plus category.
