Baldia fire: China donates Rs2m to victims’ heirs

The foreign affairs ministry’s deputy chief of protocol handed over the cheque to the Sindh chief secretary.

KARACHI: The Chinese government has donated Rs2 million to the families of the victims who died in the Baldia factory fire. The foreign affairs ministry’s deputy chief of protocol, Rehan Naseer Siddiqui, handed over the cheque to the Sindh chief secretary, Raja Muhammad Abbas, at a meeting held at the chief secretary house on Monday. The labour secretary, Arif Illahi, and the newly appointed commissioner of Karachi, Hashim Raza Zaidi, were also present.
