Dual Nationality: 25 lawmakers submit documents

The documents have been presented at the assembly secretariat on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s directives.

Around 25 lawmakers from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly have submitted affidavits, confirming that they do not to hold dual nationalities.


The documents have been presented at the assembly secretariat on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) directives.

Earlier on Friday, the assembly secretariat asked lawmakers to submit their declarations confirming that they do not hold dual citizenship in pursuance of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SCP) order.

Those who have submitted their documents include K-P Assembly Speaker Kiramatullah Chagarmati, Opposition Leader Akram Khan Durrani, Pakistan Peoples Party parliamentary leader Abdul Akbar Khan and provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain.

Ninety-nine out of a total of 124 members, including K-P Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, have not submitted their documents as yet.
