A man slaughtered his wife and three young daughters over a domestic dispute in Muridke on Tuesday.

The man, who has been identified as Shaukat, first gave intoxicated syrup to his wife and daughters. Once they lost consciousness, he murdered them.

However, he did not kill his youngest son and took him away when he fled.

Shaukat is said to have committed this act because he was not happy with the marriage of his 11-year-old daughter Samina.

Farhad | 13 years ago | Reply A tragedy of epic proportions. He took his son with him. Wow. Pakistan is 40 years behind comparative economies in the way their social society thinks. There can only be more of these incidents to come, in increasing frequency. God bless the souls who were robbed of life early.
ZainB | 13 years ago | Reply Khan - even if on a daily basis, these are a handful of incidents given the size of the province, and to generalize and stereotype all the people resident in that province on the basis of these acts is no different than the argument that 'all Muslims must have something wrong with them since Muslims commit so many terrorist acts'. Pakistan has enough issues, try not to fan provincialism and yet more vilification of an entire community based on the actions of a few.
