Tackling underdevelopment: FATA uplift top priority, says ACS

Conflict in the tribal areas has affected 200,000 families: FATA Additional Chief Secretary

PESHAWAR: Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (Fata) Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Tashfeen Khan said that the socio-economic development of Fata was a top priority in the government. Khan was addressing the participants of inland study tour of the 97th National Management Course, Lahore, while explaining the strategic development initiatives of the Fata Secretariat. Conflict in the tribal areas has affected 200,000 families and over 150,000 families have been displaced, Khan said. He highlighted the recently announced IT policy and the establishment of an investment bank in Fata as directed by K-P Governor Barrister Masood Kausar. The investment bank is aimed to encourage businesses and entrepreneurs, create jobs and bolster growth. Donor agencies, including foreign governments and trust funds are assisting in various projects.
