FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has suspended two sub-divisional officers (SDO) for failing to achieve the recovery target and to control line losses.

Show cause notices have also been issued to two executive engineers (XEN) and 21 SDOs.

The Fesco CEO Engineer Iftikhar Ahmad, who chaired a meeting on Thursday, to discuss strategy to improve recovery in the first and second circles warned officials of strict action if they did not meet their targets.

He said the company needed to become more efficient so that consumers could be facilitated. He advised Fesco officials to be friendly with the consumers. Ahmad said the company would continue its recovery campaign until “every rupee owed by defaulters is collected”.

The recovered amount would be spent on new electrification schemes and up-gradation of grids etc. The CEO told SDOs and other subordinate staff to keep their mobile phones on so that consumers could lodge their complaints without difficulty.
