Animal disease: Training course on molecular diagnosis from 15th

The sixth national training course on Molecular Diagnosis of Animal Diseases will be arranged by the Soil and Environmental Biotechnology Division (SEBD) of the National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) from October 15-19.


SEBD head Dr Qaisar Mahmood Khan said on Wednesday the NIBGE has been helping with the capacity building of the biotechnology sector. He said that since its establishment in January 1994, it had been recognised as a “centre of excellence in biotechnology.” He said it was affiliated to the International Centre of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Italy. He said NIBGE research focuses on health, agriculture, industry and environment. He said that the (SEBD) molecular diagnostic lab had organised several training courses on the diagnosis of animal pathogens.

He said the course was about methods to diagnose and control infectious diseases amongst livestock.

He said a total of 20 participants will attend the course.
