A 25-year-old tailor identified as Asif alias Abbas was shot dead in his shop near Ranchore Lane, said the Garden police. The body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi. SHO Fateh Mohammad Sheikh said that Asif was attacked by two men on a motorcycle.
The bodies of two men affiliated with the MQM were found near the Old Haji Camp, said the Napier police.
The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi. The men were identified as Farhan Shah, 22, and 27-year-old Abid. SHO Aslam Gujjar said that both men were friends and worked for the party’s unit 91 in Lyari. Once word about their deaths spread in the neighbourhood, the police and Rangers were called in to monitor the area.
The SHO claims that both men were on their way to buy fishing gear on Tuesday night and were kidnapped.
The body of 35-year-old Shaikh Arif was found by the Jamshed Quarters police on Wednesday.
They said that he was a resident of Ilyas Goth, Liaquatabad and was reported missing on Monday. They added that Arif was associated with the MQM’s unit 166 in Liaquatabad and worked as a driver. The police found the body of an unidentified man in a gunny bag near Ramswami.
In Malir, 25-year-old Shahzad Shah was shot dead near Gulistan-e-Rafi, said the Al-Falah police. They said that Shah was not affiliated with any religious or political parties.
In an unrelated incident, Ateeq Ahmed, 26, was killed near Sharae Faisal, said the Ferozabad police. ASP Ghulam Murtaza Malik said that Shah worked for a private money changing company and was on his way to work with Rs900,000, which he had withdrawn from the State Bank of Pakistan, when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him. The suspects ran away with the money.
