An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday dismissed the pre-arrest bail pleas of four men who allegedly killed a woman over a property dispute in August this year.
The judge, Yar Muhammad Gondal, dismissed the pleas of Khalid Khokhar, Muhammad Rafique, Kamran Khan and Tilawat Khan, who are said to be the gunmen of Imtiaz alias Taji Khokhar.
The four men have been accused of killing a woman on August 17, while a local commission appointed by a civil court was present at the disputed property in Dhoke Gangal.
Earlier on Saturday, Irfan alias Nikku, another suspect in the case, confessed that he had killed Sabira Bibi, the wife of Raja Yaqoob.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested two other suspects, Muhammad Waheed and Anwarul Haq, while Taji has obtained protective bail from the Peshawar High Court.
Earlier, Yaqoob’s lawyer, Ghufran Khursheed Imtiazi, told The Express Tribune that Taji had illegally occupied five kanals of land owned by his client and the court granted a stay order in the case. However, the opposing party violated court orders and started building a marriage hall on the disputed property.
He said Yaqoob had filed a contempt plea and requested the city and regional police officers to provide security to his family, as Taji had attacked his house earlier.
The civil court had appointed a local commission to inspect the disputed property and determine whether its status had been changed following the stay order, but the accused party intervened and opened indiscriminate fire, forcing the commission and complainants to leave the area.
Taji Khokhar is the brother of former National Assembly deputy speaker Haji Nawaz Khokhar and the uncle of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, the adviser to the prime minister on human rights.
