The Lahore High Court summoned the health secretary for October 15 on a contempt petition filed by four midwives from Faisalabad district. The petitioners – all government employees in grade 5 – submitted that the court had earlier directed the health secretary to consider and decide the petitioners’ representations for promotion, but he had still not done so.
