Unhealthy: 400kg meat destroyed

The shop owner escaped arrest.

SARGODHA: Department officials on Sunday claimed to have seized and destroyed 400 kilograms of unhealthy meat, recovered in a raid at a meat shop. The shop owner escaped arrest. Asif Shah, a veterinary doctor at the department, said that they had carried out the operation at the shop located in Jhal Chakkian Adda after receiving a tip. He said the shopkeeper had been storing the meat on ice blocks in the basement. Shah said that the man who tipped them off had told them that the shopkeeper was planning on supplying the meat to shops in various cities.
