The charge sheet: Hall of shame!

How did Wendi Murdoch walk out of her home wearing that? Maybe her husband media mogul Rupert Murdoch is too old to notice her absolute lack of fashion sense, but we didn’t let this one go!

Wendi had a fashion disaster of gargantuan proportions at the opening night of film Life of Pi at the 50th New York Film Festival. We’re shocked that this businesswoman, who normally shows off her svelte frame in gorgeous dresses, could go this wrong.

Hair

Does her hairdresser hate her? Messy side-dos work for those with slightly smaller foreheads. For Wendi, it would have been best to let that hair loose. It’s time she hires a stylist (or fires her current one) — with the kind of money she has, anything is possible!

Make-up

With all the copper and gold on that dress, bright red lipstick was a bad idea! As much as you’d want us to focus on your lips, your dress still wins for the awkward stares. Smokey eyes would have been a much better option and a little more contouring on the nose would have been great. A layer of foundation for the neck lines would have worked better than the black shirt collar.

Accessories

Small earrings or no earrings wouldn’t make a difference, the dress still looks horrendous! Thank you for not wearing anything else to add to this red carpet horror. The glittery purple clutch is just drawing unnecessary attention to her chocolate brown nail paint.

Outfit

Wendi needs to be heavily fined for wearing the worst dress ever to be seen on a filthy-rich socialite. This half-printed, brown and black lacy-dress, with horizontal lines of shiny copper sequins, and a terrifying black collar makes us wonder: did you think you were attending a costume party? The blue shoes would have been great with a pastel skirt or even skinnies, but with this chocolate brown abomination (and that purple and blue nail paint), we’re convinced Wendi got dressed in the dark.

Wear it like

Actor Heidi Klum looks snazzy as she does the “Angelina”, showing off one bare leg. The lace gown has been custom made for the Victoria’s Secret model by Escada and looks fabulous with the beaded necklace and bracelets. Heidi’s matching nail colour actually makes her hands glow; please take notes Wendi, next time don’t mix and match without reason. As for Heidi’s make-up, the natural look enhances her dress even more.

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton looks gorgeous as ever in her black and beige lace dress designed by Alice Temperley. Her choice to let her hair down with big curls really suits her sophisticated look, especially with the smoky eyes, rosy cheeks and pink lipstick. Her black velvet clutch is not an eye-popper and the matching belt really complements her figure — something Wendi should keep in mind for next time. The dress requires minimal accessories, which Kate confirmed by only wearing a ring.

Singer Taylor Swift is showing off her flawless skin in this glamorous black dress by Jenny Packham. The same coloured sequins and the sleeve lacework add some variation to the plain design without looking gaudy. With glittering bottom, Taylor knew she didn’t need contrast coloured shoes, a wiser choice than Wendi’s. Her limited accessories, and light make-up make this look exquisite.
