Tourism and development: PM to chair meeting on G-B peace

Meeting to be held in October will review the implementation of decisions taken in the past.

GILGIT: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will be held in Islamabad on ways to maintain peace in Gilgit-Baltistan along with enhancing its potential to attract tourists. The meeting to be held in October will review the implementation of decisions taken in the past along with discussing other issues as such as finance. The meeting is supposed to be a follow-up on important decisions taken by the PM during his recent visit to the area. PM Ashraf said the federal government would provide all necessary resources to bring G-B at par with the developed areas of the country. He also fulfilled a long standing demand of the area of continuing subsidy on wheat.
