33 gang members arrested: Multan CPO

Police also recovered 30 pistols with 450 bullets and a rifle from their possession.

MULTAN:


Police on Saturday said they had apprehended 33 members of 11 criminal gangs and recovered valuables worth Rs16.6 million from them.

Addressing a press conference, CPO Aamir Zulifqar Khan said the arrested men were from the Fayyaz, Ammar, Amjad, Sajid, Khurram Abbas, Ijaz Khichi, Muhammad Husnain, Abdul Khaliq, Malik Punno, Muhammad Hanif and Riaz gangs.


He said eight cars worth an estimated Rs4.5 million, an oil tanker with 40,000 litres of diesel oil worth Rs8 million, 33 motorcycles worth Rs2 million, cattle worth Rs 0.6million and Rs1.5 million in cash were recovered. Police also recovered 30 pistols with 450 bullets and a rifle from their possession. Imran, one of those suspected for an attack on Basti Malook police station in 2011, was also arrested.
