Women chamber of commerce: Farida Rashid elected president

ISLAMABAD: Noted female entrepreneur Farida Rashid has been elected unopposed as president of the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) for 2012-2013. A meeting of IWCCI office-bearers and members was held here, with IWCCI founder president Samina Fazil in the chair, to elect the new office-bearers. Mumtaz Akhtar was elected Vice President, while Parveen Khan, Rubina Nasir, Sarosh Rahim, Samina Fazil, Munaza Arif, Sajda Anwaar, Samina Akther, Shireen Javed, Shamim Aftab and Rizwana Asif were elected as members of the Executive Committee. After her election, Farida Rashid thanked participants for reposing confidence in her, ansd said, “Pakistan can only become a developed nation when women are encouraged and their skills utilised.”
