Pakistan-Germany relations: Drone strikes indicate shortsightedness

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany appreciates country’s understanding of Pakistan’s views on drone strikes.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Abdul Basit met with Petra Ernstberger, Member of the Bundestag and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group for South Asia, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.  According to a press release, the ambassador briefed Ernstberger on internal developments and said Pakistan was destined to become a regional economic hub as intra-region connectivity and economic activities were gaining momentum. Basit appreciated Germany’s understanding of Pakistan’s views on drone strikes and stressed that conducting strikes for their ephemeral tactical advantages was shortsightedness.
