TANDO ADAM:

The Crime Branch investigating the Tando Adam lynching case, in which a man was killed and four others were injured, presented an incomplete report before the court on Monday.

DSP Sajawal Khan Khaki of the Crime Branch presented the report of the incident, which took place on August 22, without the version of the district public prosecutor. The court ordered the official to complete the report within three days with the proper version of the prosecutor.

The people nominated in the case, including journalist Ishaque Ali Shaikh and cameraman Irfan Jogi, have not been arrested till now.

Khaki said that a “transparent investigation” was being carried out, adding that the police will not exclude any name from the murder case.

When asked about the policemen who were reportedly present when the lynching took place, he said that a letter has been sent to their department that will deal with them accordingly.

DSP Muhammad Ayub Brohi and SHO Vijay Kumar conducted raids at different locations for the arrests of the named journalists but banners have been put up around the city against their nomination. Social activists and journalists have demanded the authorities to constitute a judicial inquiry into the matter.
