Former ADG FIA commits suicide

Former ADG FIA had a history of depression, but the exact reason for this act was not known.

ISLAMABAD: Former Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director General (ADG FIA) Shoukat Ali allegedly committed suicide in Islamabad on Monday, . 

Ali, 62 was rushed to the emergency ward of PIMS. Doctors there confirmed that the former ADG FIA had died from a single bullet wound. They added that preliminary examinations had revealed that a bullet entered from below the right ear and exited from the left side of his head.

However, Ali's family members refused a post mortem.

Ali had served as the DIG Kohat as well as ADG FIA during his career. He had a history of depression and of taking depression medicines.

Correction: Express News had earlier incorrectly reported that the deceased was former DG FIA Zafarullah Khan. The correction has been made. The error is regretted.
