Technology transfer: Netherlands to develop textile sector

Technology up-gradation programme for the textile sector will also be launched primarily Faisalabad.

FAISALABAD: FAISALABAD. The Netherlands will start projects to enhance the textile expertise in Faisalabad, according to the Ambassador of Netherlands to Pakistan Gajus Scheltema during a meeting with the office bearers of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and industry (FCCI). He said that the Government of Netherlands will expand the bio-gas project in Punjab province. Technology up-gradation programme for the textile sector will also be launched primarily in the country’s textile capital Faisalabad. He stressed the business community to provide their input upon in policymaking and investing in the energy sector. He admired the potential available in the country and suggested to tap the new avenues also. He briefed the participants about the skill enhancement of managers especially in the textile sector. Companies in the Netherlands had access to very cheap and high quality solar systems that could be imported in Pakistan. He also promised to promote the investment of Dutch companies in energy sector of Pakistan. Earlier in his welcome address, FCCI President Muzammal Sultan said that the Netherlands is a vital trading partner of Pakistan and a gateway to Europe due to its geographical location. APP
