Targeted Attacks: Policeman among four gunned down in Karachi

Three suspects also arrested for their involvement in murder, extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.

KARACHI: Around four people, including a policeman, were shot dead in the city on Thursday. Three suspects were also arrested for their involvement in murder, extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.

In Korangi sector 8/A, a policeman identified as Raza Khan, 45, was killed near Bilal Colony by unidentified men on a motorcycle, said the Korangi Industrial sector police. He was on duty when the suspects opened fire at him. The police suspect that he was killed by drug dealers.

An 18-year-old boy identified as Farrukh was also killed in Korangi, said the police. Farrukh was on near his house when he was attacked by unidentified men. They suspect that he was killed over a personal enmity.

The Sohrab Goth police said that a 45-year-old man identified as Turkistan was shot dead in Khadim Sulangi Goth. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police suspect that he was killed over a personal enmity. Two injured men were found by the Jamshed Quarter police near Nishtar Road. They were identified as Adeel and Mehtab. The authorities claim that the men were kidnapped.

Three suspects, including Ghulam Murtaza alias Gullu, were arrested by the Crime Investigation Department after an encounter in Surjani Town sector 7D, New Karachi.
