The accused is believed to be a juvenile.

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court-III asked for the age of a person accused in an extortion case to be verified on Wednesday, after his lawyer applied for bail.

The accused is believed to be a juvenile. Juvenile prisoners are tried at the Anti-Terrorism Courts, often accused in cases along with adults.

While the Juvenile Justice System Ordinance of 2000 states that adults and children cannot be tried together, the provisions of the ordinance are in addition to other laws in place, such as the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.

The court will hear the case on September 26.
