KARACHI: It was smooth sailing for the recognised players at the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) International Squash Championship in the first round matches at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad.

Top-seed Aamir Atlas Khan defeated Aqib Hanif 11-6, 15-13 and 11-7, while his brother Danish, the second-seed, beat Hamza Bukhai 11-8, 11-2 and 11-7. Meanwhile, third-seeded Farhan Mehboob raced to a 3-0 victory against seasoned player Mansoor Zaman with scores of 12-10, 11-8 and 11-3.

“The players need to understand that if they want to compete at the international level, they should work hard, keeping in mind the intensity required for tough matches,” Pakistan coach Jamshed Gul, told The Express Tribune, being the one monitoring the tournament to see the fitness of players before deciding which PSA event to give them.
