Al-tuwairqi: Reverse Osmosis plant inaugurated

Reverse osmosis plant is a precondition for process water requirement of 1.28 million ton per annum capacity of plant.

KARACHI: A large Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant having a capacity of 6,500 cubic metres per day has been inaugurated. An announcement on Tuesday said that Sharjeel Azhar, CEO of Al-Ittefaq Steel Products Company (ISPC), a group company of Al-Tuwairqi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, performed the inauguration. It said that the inauguration of state-of-the-art ultra filtration and reverse osmosis plant marked a major milestone in the completion of the Al-Tuwairqi Steel Mill DRI plant – the first private sector integrated steel manufacturing complex in Karachi. The reverse osmosis plant is a precondition for process water requirement of 1.28 million ton per annum capacity of the plant. Al-Tuwairqi Chairman Zaigham Adil Rizvi said on the occasion that the successful commissioning of the ultra filtration and reverse osmosis plant is the reward for the dedication and hard work shown by Al-Tuwairqi family. “We are committed to completing this project which will revitalise the steel industry and greatly benefit the prosperity of Pakistan,” he said.
