The liberal lynch mob

BURLINGTON, VT, US: This is with reference to Mahreen Khan’s article of August 28 titled “The liberal lynch mob”. I thank the writer for responding to the vitriol from Fasi Zaka and George Fulton. What really saddened me was how many of the youthful readers of this newspaper applauded this self-hatred. Having lived in the West, I have seen numerous dreadful episodes of violence and hate crimes but it never leads to the kind of self-loathing that many of Pakistan’s elite indulge in. No wonder the English press gets ostracised by many and the Urdu press gets more radicalised. I was going to write my next column in this vein but you have said what i intended to say far more eloquently.
