ISLAMABAD:
The devolution plan of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has been postponed and a formal announcement in this regard will be made soon, the corporation’s managing director said on Sunday. “I held meetings with the prime minister and convinced him that the control of the tourism sector should be with the centre,” Khetran told a news conference in Ayubia. He said the decision to keep the tourism sector with the centre would protect the jobs of hundreds of PTDC employees. To a question, he said, PTDC would soon get a bailout package from the government and all the dues of the employees would be cleared. He said PTDC was likely to achieve its revenue target. “The tourism season is about to end and revenue details will be shared with the media after getting collection from all the PTDC centres.”
