Workshop: Call for improving rural sanitation

Immediate measures to scale up sanitation facilities in flood-affected areas were stressed during the second day of a two-day workshop held to review the “Early Recovery Programme on Rural Sanitation in Flood-affected Areas” on Friday. The workshop was held to review the programme’s implementation. The programme, which began in 2010, has given access to toilets to five million people in 4,500 villages so far.
