Six-year-old Zameer died at a private hospital in Mirpur Mathelo while two-year-old Lal Bux Jaffery, three-year-old Abdul Majeed Bugti and seven-year-old Irshad Jhangi died at a relief camp in Tangwani.
Meanwhile, two children, identified as Rozina and Rizwan, died due to gastroenteritis near the Sobho Khan Shah village, Kingri, on Friday. Their bodies were taken to the Pirjo Goth hospital where their deaths were confirmed.
The disease continues to spread across the province due to unhygienic conditions following the flash floods in Sindh.
According to reports from Mirpur Mathelo, more than 40 people, including seven-year-old Kamal Mahar, six-year-old Shahmir, two-year-old Mehnaz, three-year-old Aqeela, five-year-old Ayaz, three-year-old Shabana, five-year-old Zain and one-year-old Hasnain, were taken to hospitals on Friday with complaints of gastroenteritis.
Reports also showed that people, who can afford private hospitals, prefer to take their family members there as they believe that the government hospitals lack medical facilities.
