KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee has advised critics of the new Sindh local government ordinance to read the document before offering their two cents. The committee stated that through the local government system, the Pakistan People’s Party and the MQM had given a ‘gift’ to the people of Sindh, while ensuring the province’s security and development. The committee also said that the two parties had forsaken their interests for the people of Sindh. The statement also noted that both parties had been ‘open’ throughout the process of developing the ordinance. The committee reiterated that criticising the ordinance without reading it could lead to misgivings and misunderstandings.
