
Speakers and performers at an event to mark the Physiotherapy Day on Monday highlighted the importance of the treatment for people with disabilities.
They also said there had been an increase in the demand for trained physiotherapists.
They said there was still a need to raise awareness among people about the benefits of physical therapy.
The University of Faisalabad School of Physiotherapy head Dr Shahid Ahmad Heera said the demand for professional therapists had increased in the country overtime.
He said more people were now considering the profession.
Some students of Doctorate of Physiotherapy (DPT) presented tableaus to highlight the importance of the treatment.
Prof Faqir Hussain Khan, the Faculty of Health Sciences dean, and Hamid Nawaz Sheikh, the Examination Controller, were the chief guests at the event held at Saleem Campus of The University of Faisalabad.
Women Foundation President Zahida Maqbool donated two wheel chairs to the School of Physical Therapy.
She said her foundation would provide scholarships of Rs300,000 each to deserving students of health sciences from next academic year.
