Mishap: Gas leak accident injures four

The explosion also killed three cows and burnt valuables worth thousands.

KARAK: A gas explosion inside a house in Gorgori area of Karak district injured four people of a family, including two children, in the early hours of Sunday. Aqal Baba, ex-Nazim of the area said that around 3am, he heard a explosion and rushed to the spot. He saw his neighbour, Abdul Aziz’s, house on fire. The gas pipeline of their house was leaking and when Aziz’s wife lit a match, the explosion occurred, injuring his wife and two children, Fatima, 3, and Ruqaiya, 1. The explosion also killed three cows and burnt valuables worth thousands. Locals rushed the injured the Civil Hospital Terri where doctors referred them to the burns unit at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Aqal said. Two of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.
