Election qualifications: PU declares degrees of eight MPs ‘fake’

LAHORE: The Punjab University has sent a final report to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) declaring the degrees of eight provincial parliamentarians as fake. The university said that it had no record of Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid’s (PML-Q) Muhabbat Khan Marri, Seemal Kamran and Amna Ulfat, PML-Nawaz’s Afshan Farooq, Farah Deeba and Shumaila Rana, and Awami National Party’s (ANP) Syed Aqil Shah. Naseer Akhtar’s degree was also declared to be a fake. Six other members have been issued a final warning to submit their matriculation and intermediate certificates to the commission. They include MPAs Noman Iqbal, Abdul Haneef, Mohammad Nawaz, Neelum Chaudhry and Mohammad Arkaan.
