QMC students to appear before CJP

A delegation of students from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur is to appear before Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry over police torture during a demonstration.

The students had called the demonstration to protest against a sudden hike in academic fees.

Police were called in to control the protest and in the process they attacked the students, injuring 20 students.

The students are now demanding the removal of the college principal for ordering the police to step in and torturing the students. A medical report has also proved that the students were tortured.

The students of the medical college have pledged that they will continue their protest until the principal is removed.
