The statistics reveal that the total number of people killed in these drone strikes numbered between 29 to 65, including senior militants along with at least two named civilians.
All seven strikes happened in the days after the month of Ramazan ended, making the number of strikes this year rise, according to the bureau’s data which adds that there has been no let-up in strikes during Ramazan and Eid since US President Barack Obama came into power. In contrast, no drone strikes have ever taken place on either Christmas nor Easter.
The report said that the August strikes ended after three coordinated attacks on August 24 which killed between 13 and 18 people including several named militants of Turkistan and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The statistics of all CIA drone strikes in Pakistan stated by the bureau are given below:
Total Obama strikes: 291
Total US strikes since 2004: 343
Total reported killed: 2,558 - 3,319
Civilians reported killed: 474 - 881
Children reported killed: 176
Total reported injured: 1,226 - 1,359

@Satan: Dear Satan, You have it right somewhat, but what do we do with the crazies in Washington, the Pentagon and CentCom? .After all most of the problems started eleven years ago when the US moved into Afghanistan on the conspiracy theory lie/excuse that the Afghan Government had been involved in 9/11. Unfortunately, it would be a waste of time trying to straighten out all the deranged characters. in Washington. There are just too many of them. They use any feeble excuse they can, such as communism, terrorism or militancy, when they bomb or kill innocent people, and they have now attacked 37 plus countries since WWII. And, have you noticed that America knows to a man or women how many Americans have been killed, but they never tell us how many people they have murdered as they swashbuckle around the world under the pretense they are doing good works and helping people. A classic example of US debauchery is Iraq. They killed and bombed Iraq into the stone-age on the still unproven excuse that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. They also used illegal weaponry such as white phosphorus and depleted uranium, which is not depleted at all and has a half-life of about 3 billion years. In retrospect, I cannot understand why a powerful country such as Pakistan allows its own citizens to be killed by a supposedly friendly ally.
Its totally awful massacre to kill innocents but shown as Terrorist killing. Its not our war that our people are smashing all the way. These TTP are your Made America don't indulge us.
@daljeet:
Drone is called "ABAABEEL" in Pakistan FATA.
Pakistan is the only country with nuclear weapons that can be bombed, attacked or threatened by foreign powers with impunity.
No other country including All-Weather friend China has played no part in stopping or even condemning the drone attacks, by the way.
Then there must be some justification in droning Pakistan.
How can we have a war on terrorism when war itself is terrorism (howard zinn) Please try to understand this. Then we will understand what that Drone is actully doing.
These drones have surely saved us from many suicide hits. What many people do not realize is that the drones are welcomed by a vast majority of the people in the tribal areas. No one knows better than them who is inviting the wrath of the whole world towards them. Who else can understand the need for peace better than them after seeing war for so many years. And the drones are not resulting in any retaliation. When would-be suicide bombers would be killed, there would be lesser suicide attacks. Finally, hardly any civilians are killed by drones. Human shields used by militants can't be called civilians. And the deaths of militants are almost always confirmed by the TTP, so no reason to deny US claims in this regard.
"no drone strikes have ever taken place on either Christmas nor Easter" That laughably implies an "every religion is out to get the always-peaceful Muslims" mindset. So Muslims demand special treatment during Eid at home and abroad when it comes to responsibilities and their jobs but, if the pilots of drones happen to be Christian they aren't allowed their own holidays?
@daljeet: Dear dalieet, I think your contribution of "DRONE being Pakistan's national bird" is the contribution of the week. Good work.
@Cautious: Dear Cautious, I know we have jousts from time to time, but I really do not understand where you are coming from in regard to your latest missive in regard to civilian casualty stats, and I am not doing a put-down in this particular case. Could you clarify your position a little more; Regards.
its high time for pakistan to declare "DRONE" its national bird.
Do you guys really think that if all these current terrorist leaders are eliminated none of the now-innocent follower will grow up to become the same after US leaves?. What will happen to Pakistan then?. It is some kind of contagious disease that will stop spreading if we kill the masters, so that we wont have any followers up till eternity to make Pakistan a happy dappy country forever and ever? Naive thinking! Clearly this is not a solution. This has to be complemented by 10,000 psychiatrist and 10,000 brain-washers sent to these areas.
It would be nice if you reported the source for your civilian casualty statistics -- the one that is often used comes from a dubious source in the UK who's "reporter's" have never been to the tribal territories, never questioned anyone who has witnessed a drone attack, and use benchmarks like anyone who is female or looks like they might be under the age of 18 are innocent civilians. To be blunt --- it has been a very long time since I read any report of a drone attack that mentions anything other than militants being killed. Further - the intel that almost never mentions civilian casualties comes from your own intelligence/military agencies who are obviously no fans of the USA.
So many innocent civilians killed by the drones, the most innocent ones are these (in order of innocence): "Baitullah Mehsud, Mullah Daadullah, Ilyas Kashmiri, Badruddin Haqqani etc..."
In the absence of any substantive support from their compatriots, the minorities in Pakistan must be seeing the drone strikes as a God-send help against the same elements that are butchering them day in and day out. If they don't, they should, considering the dead silence of the centers of power.
Great job, between 29-65 terrorist and enemies of Islam are eliminated. Please increase these strikes to reduce the ability of killers of innocent citizens who have hijacked a peaceful religion.
Well....We need to agree...all valuable targets so far hit by Drones.....so one should expect a collateral damage.....
I appreciate Drones for killing high targets...now its responsibility of locals who shelter these militants....PLEASE DON"T CONSIDER THEM CIVILIANS...
I AM 100 % confident and know that local villagers inform militants about timing of military patrolling and strength........Do you think, last weeks 15 soldier missing happened just militants cross border and easy way took soldiers...NO....Locals are 100 % involved in it..
It is sooooooooooo naive idea to link terrorism and sectarian violence with drones.
There you go. IK was right. These Drones are the ultimate CAUSE of terrorism. Suicide bombings are the EFFECTS. Try to understand guys.
