The district government on Saturday removed roadside stalls, counters, signboards and handcarts from public spaces on Montgomery Road in an operation against encroachments.
A district government spokesperson said that some citizens had complained to the office of the District Coordination Officer (DCO) about the encroachments.
Acting DCO Ahad Khan Cheema later directed the tehsil municipal officer (TMO) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town to carry out an anti-encroachment operation at the site.
The officer was directed to remain vigilant and ensure that the encroachments that were removed did not return. The district coordination officer said that the encroachments were a nuisance to Montgomery Road traders.
