Hindu shoemaker's son tops matriculation exam
His success was celebrated in a traditional way, amidst Pakistani folk songs. His family was very happy on their son’s achievement.
Despite topping the exams, his dream of becoming a doctor will have to be put on hold since his shoe maker father, who earns Rs100-150 a day, cannot afford Revtash's education any further. Instead, he now assists his father at his shoe shop.
“I make shoes to earn a living but sadly, not enough to support my son’s education. I hope the government can help us,” Revtash’s proud father hoped.
This news came a few days after that of Muhammad Mohsin, the son of a former labourer of Hafizabad and a worker at a tandoor who topped the Punjab University B.A/B.Sc exams by obtaining 688 marks.

there should be a government funded educational grant program in Pakistan for the top students and this kid definitely deserves one. If the current government wants to be remembered for atleast ONE good thing... this is the best opportunity!! Well done kiddo... well done!!

Prime Minister has granted Rs. 5 million cash award and govt will bear his educational expenses. Thank you progressive govt which does not discriminate its citizens.

India offers some full scholarships for students from other countries. I would suggest that this student contact the Indian Embassy or the Government of India for more details and how to apply.

If the Govt. is not willing to support these young scholars, I will request the management of MQM to look into it and help these boys and girls to continue their education and fulfill their dreams.

I would like to pay for his education. Bhagwan ki dua se hum thik-thak hai. There is no one more deserving than this kid. Facing discrimination of being a minority and lower caste in a country like Pakistan and achieving so much? He needs to be supported and groomed every step of the way.
Colleges and universities must have a few seats reserved for such students and impart education free of cost to them and extend some cash benefit to the family.
When Rimshah allegedly desecrated the Qura'n, was there a need to put a Masih in front of her name? Was it neccessary to mention her parents religion?

@M Hasan: Right, normally religion has nothing to do with this, but recently minorities are treated harshly socially and maligned, so it makes difference now to say that minorities can perform well in society and can be progressive.
Instead of all commentators asking the goverment to help this guy out, I propose well all pool in to fund his education. I start with $100.00...
