Jamil Bugti, the eldest surviving son of the slain Baloch chieftain Nawab Akbar Bugti, has said that the establishment does not want a peaceful solution to the Balochistan issue and it is still searching for a military solution.
“The only solution is a referendum under the supervision of the United Nations,” he said, while speaking to the media after an event in memory of his father at his resident Bugti Bulak in Mian Gundi, Quetta.
Jamil said there was no solution to the Baloch problem in the parliamentary system, which he termed as ‘a fraud’. He added that the Baloch people were fed up with the apologies of ‘Maharajas and Rajas’, and did not trust any leaders.
“If the ruling party is unable to arrest the killers of their own leader Benazir Bhutto, how could the Baloch trust them?” Jamil questioned. He claimed that a military operation was still going on in Balochistan, including in Dera Bugti.
“The truth will be revealed after media teams visit the area and meet with the locals who are migrating from Dera Bugti in thousands,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that they did not have any objections if the Pakhthuns wanted a separate province or merger of Pakhtun-majority areas of Balochistan with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“We want our historic territories which were merged with Punjab and Sindh,” he said. According to him, Dera Gazi Khan, Kashmore, Jecobabad, Rajanpur and Kandhkot should be merged with Balochistan again.

I think there appears to be an unbridgeable difference between the rest of Pakistan and the Baloch culture. Most Baloch have completely forgiven Akbar Bugti for whatever human failings he revealed during his lifetime. At the time of his death the eighty year old Bugti was so unwell that he was completely unable to walk.Instead of surrendering to overwhelming forces he courageously chose to die with his head unbowed and his spirit unbroken. To many Baloch he is their Tipu Sultan. Whether the rest of Pakistan can accept this view or not is probably not much of a concern to the long suffering Baloch.
I pray for the disenfranchised and oppressed Baloch and Pashtuns of Balochistan to get their rightful lands back from their oppressors.
ohh well 1st one has to understand territories change with time .. 2ndly who is he to demand areas from Punjab and Sindh.. has he forgotten that the balochs have migrated from the area called kurdistan to this are of subcontinent around 500yrs back.. how dare they ask us to give away our land.. no way sorry live here peacefully or else please dont force us to make u leave ..
@A. Nabi Baloch: Nawab Sahib was respected man, but it would not be correct if we say he did not kill. One of his victim was his own uncle. Please ask his first cousins for confirmation.

Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was leader of Baloch people , this is how we saw him. Not the chief of Bugti tribe. He was not killer of his people, it is the figmentation of your own imagination. He did not attack Islamabad, Islamabad attacked him.
baloch land is not only in pakistan or province of balochistan we want full balochistan from kirman to nooroz to multan to runn of kuch to bundar abbass at all costs

Few feudals from Bugti or mari clan does not represent ordinary Baloch. I recently spent 3 months in Quetta. All I will say is a common Baloch love Pakistan.
Harsh language both against or for, is irrational. When people cry hoarse they must be feeling pain. No cause for suspecting each other of malice or collusion with outsiders.We can talk to Baloch separatist with sympathy. No one can take what we don't give. We should be self-assured.

@nomi: What about these thugs who have killed thousands of innocents people? When they are in the power, they do everything the establishment wants them to do. For example, when Akbar Bugti was Balochistan's Chief Minister in early 70s, he conducted brutal operations against Murrees and killed hundreds of them.
@Nomi , according to you ,there is a definite scenario that America which is not really an ally of Pakistan can make independant Balochistan fighting out Pakistan Army. But India's Kashmir , Pakistan cant do anything and before you bring China ,there is lot of south east asian conflicts like taiwan,japan,indonesia,thailand etc for china which is money rich rather than no gain in fighting India. Converse America and Israel wants to denuclearize pakistan and can use Balochistan card.
In modern times, states do not let go of their territories. Most brutal measures are taken which is being done by Pakistan army and their counterparts in Indian held Kashmir.
Unless there is an intervention by a bigger military force, Balochistan cannot become independent and the same applies to the indian occupied Kashmir too.
Solution is to give special status to baloch culture to safeguard it and hang a few army men. But the army lovers do not want that.
Every bandit wakes up in the morning to break Pakistan at his will. Those who are the killers of their own clans and tribesmen are now preaching way of life to others. These people represent at best their part of the tribe to which they belong.
