Crackdown: 19 arrested from sheesha cafes

City district administration arrested 19 people, five managers of sheesha cafés, in campaign against illegal smoking.

FAISALABAD: The city district administration on Monday arrested 19 people, including five managers of sheesha cafés, in campaign against illegal smoking. Assistant Commissioner (City) Zaheer Anwar Jappa raided some restaurants and sheesha cafes in the city and arrested the men for selling or smoking sheesha hukkahs in violation of a ban imposed by the city government. Those arrested were identified as Ishtiaq, Moon, Sameer, Muhammad Shafiq, Sharjeel and Adnan from two sheesha cafés at a plaza on Jaranwala Road. Anwar, Ejaz, Malik Rehan, Usman, Mehmood Ali, Saad Naeem and Luqman were arrested from a cafe in D-Ground, whereas Muhammad Shakeel, Muhammad Waqas, Arshad Tanveer, Umar Asghar, Waqqas and Ali Raza were arrested from two cafes in Gulistan Colony.
