Tehreek-e-Taliban threatens attacks on military
In an email message sent to media, TTP, an umbrella militant group, said it had received "an exclusive intelligence report" about the offensive in North Waziristan from its "sources" in army headquarters.
TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan outlined details about the regiments and units and the possible commander for the campaign, said to be launched on August 26 for one month.
"TTP has also prepared itself for resistance, we have set up a suicide bombers squad to welcome (the) army. We will defeat our enemy, whom is defending secular, unIslamic system of Pakistan by punching them back hard InshaAllah (God willing)," Ehsan said.
Military officials were not immediately available to comment on the claim.
On August 3, The Wall Street Journal reported Pakistani and US officials were considering joint counter-terrorism campaigns in Afghanistan and Pakistan against Haqqanis and Taliban fighters.
The report said the campaigns would mark an upturn in cooperation between the two countries after more than a year of rancorous relations, since the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
Pakistani officials later denied any agreement with Washington for a joint operation in North Waziristan, and said "routine" actions on each side of the border "should not be mistaken for 'joint operations'".
Washington has long demanded Pakistan take action against the Haqqanis, which the United States accused of attacking the US embassy in Kabul last September and acting like the "veritable arm" of Pakistani intelligence.
Pakistan has in turn demanded Afghan and US forces do more to stop Pakistani Taliban militants crossing the border to launch attacks on its forces.

you can take help from Indian army, they have good experience in curbing militancy in Kashmir and also rehabilitating the militants.
It is easy to see that these terrorists are showing signs of nervousness. They responded to the speculation about a joint operation in NWA by issuing a threat against the Pakistani army. These terrorists have already targeted GHQ in Rawalpindi, a naval base in Karachi, and the Minhas base of the PAF at Kamra last week. We encourage the Pakistani army to remain vigilant against these terrorists. At the same time, we want to make it clear that we have no intentions to step our boots inside Pakistani territory. But we fully support Pakistan in its fight against insurgents, and have encouraged the Pakistani government to target those who are working against our efforts to stabilize the region. With that said, ultimately, it will be up to the Pakistani army to decide the best course of action. We stand by Pakistan and hope to use our renewed alliance against these terrorists.

Our leaders including military leadership are growing the seeds of terrorism by their own hands in Pakistan by the severe military actions against the Pakistani tribal areas' people and in the future the next generations shall only cut the crops of terrorism and this is all Pakistan's leaders including military leadership are doing on the commandments and only to please the Pakistan's worldly master USA for $$$$$$$$ and aid on the name of Coalition Support Fund from USA and as a consequence of it Pakistan's internal and external security threats have been increased to a great degree and Pakistan's nation's life and key departments' security have been on the edge. We have to find any middle ways to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan without using severe military actions amicably so that the next generations' lives and key departments' security could be secured and protected from the terrorism and so that we could control the growing of terrorists in Pakistan instead of taking severe military actions against the Pakistani tribal people.....

What kind of double speak is this from the TTP ? They have been attacking Military personnel and installations on many occasions, why the threat now ? TTP can’t exist in a vacuum. For every purchase, like food, bullet, etc. they need money and it is their sympathizers who provide them their lifeline – money. Those financiers are equally responsible for heinous crimes of TTP and must be punished as well.

North & South Waziristan are the defacto Taliban state. The Pakistani troops in Miranshah never venture out of their base. It's about time that the Taliban are bought to heel. Thirty days of around-the-clock air raids followed by a ground assault by 150K troops should do the trick. Kill all the Uzbeks, Arabs and other foreigners in the area. Let's see how the suicide bombers do against a determined infantry assault. A little different than blowing up unsuspecting civilians.

Pak army has shown the metal in swat and it can do it again. Instead of flushing the out of region ( as is always done) and they regroup from Afghanistan or other report parts of country. A decisive strategy to eliminate them should be considered. Block them from all corners. No escape routes, NATO should provide support. Pak army please don't chicken out on these threats.
