Outpatient Departments (OPDs) will remain closed during the holidays. Emergency Departments will be open.
A Health Department spokesperson said on Saturday since most private clinics remain closed on Eid, Emergency Departments get most of the patients. He said the house officers will work in 12 hour shifts and medical officers will work in eight hour shifts. Medical superintendents at all teaching hospitals have notified duty charts.
He added that the toll-free dengue helpline will remain functional during Eid holidays.
Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Principal Professor Anjam Habib Vohra said doctors, nurses and other staff will remain available during Eid holidays.
He said special meals have been arranged for patients on the eve of Eid.
He said a control room has also been established for the Eid holidays where administrative doctors will be available to redress complaints. The control room can be called at 042-99264114.
