Pride: CM congratulates Pakistani debaters

Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said Pakistan’s youth are quite talented.


He was speaking to members of a national debating team which won first position in the Karl Popper Debating Competition held in Mexico from July 2-15.

He said the students had made Pakistanis proud. He announced that a CM’s Debating Society will be set up within two weeks.

Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Special Assistant Zaeem Hussain Qadri, the higher education secretary and the schools secretary, the Punjab Information Technology Board chairman, Punjab Youth Council chairman and parents of the debating team members were also present.

Sharif said the provincial government had arranged regular writing and debating contests for students for the last four and a half years.

He said such contests help train students. He said co-curricular activities should be encouraged.
